SPN Ontario Region Names Deputy Umpire In Chief – Chris Turcotte

The Ontario Region of Slo-Pitch National is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Turcotte to the position of Deputy Umpire In Chief. Chris will work with Ontario UIC Kirk Patterson and co Deputy UIC Pam Mogridge to head up the executive management team of the Ontario Officiating Program.

Born and raised in Arnprior, but now residing with his family in Kincardine, Chris’s small town roots, coupled alongside his education from the Sporting Goods Business Program at Sir Sanford Fleming College keep him well connected to both the umpire and team membership.

Chris has been an active umpire with Slo-Pitch since 2008. He is a familiar face in the Huronia and Kitchener Waterloo regions of the province, but has also been actively attending the Provincial and National Championships since 2009.

His passion and pride for officiating are what he hopes to instill in new umpire recruits, and he’s looking forward to working with Kirk, Pam and the other officiating committee members to continue to enhance training, develop recruitment and retention strategies and manage the vast umpire network across the Province.

“Turcotte is well suited for this leadership role, and I am looking forward to working with him in the years to come to make our umpire programs more comprehensive” says newly appointed Provincial UIC Kirk Patterson.
